And also he had yellow from first game, so CQ didn't want him risking 2nd yellow vs Spain. He wants him for Portugal game its obvious.
Also Gucci might be another surprise option. Ideally he could shock Portugal by having all three Gucci, Azmoun, JB triangle on field.

He is one of our best offensive players, and we need to win so it wouldn't be a big surprise if he started unless CQ has something else in mind but i dont think so.

Like we always have been playing, especially in the last 2 games, but hopefully with more intent to score and try to create more counter opportunities with JB, Taremi azmoun.
Interesting to see if Shojaei wil be benched, I actually he would have been better suited for the Spain game then Portugal game if anything, cause he does tend to slow down the play.. We can't really afford to do that vs Portugal at least not for the whole 90 minutes.

Had CQ kept some players for this game and will rotate some players? These are the questions for me?
I'm hoping Dejagah and Gucci see the field to help offset some of this and give us some firepower on offense as well.

As Iranians we are naturally suspicious of the referee in the first place.
As we have a right to be. Last WC against Argentina, we could have and should have won the game. Gucci was fouled in the box on the counter and no penalty was given. If VAR had been around then, we would have been awarded the penalty. But now, we score a goal and NO NO NO WE CAN'T HAVE THAT LET'S FIND A WAY TO TAKE IT AWAY -- VAR PLEASE! It's bullshit.

    That is so true!

World Cup is a big marketing event. Ronoldo's sponsors won't be happy if he is not in the final. Teams like Iran in the final is not going to be financially desirable.

This is also a way, that needs consideration!
I don’t want to be in CQs shoes now... These people (headcoaches) have sometimes to do so many difficult decisions.
    Lets hope the best.

I am 100% certain thats what CQ will pass on to players too.
