Many didn't even have Alireza Haghghi on the radar before WC and he started for us.

At this point, I am leaning towards:

    Hosseini, Mazarehi and Abedzadeh.

Depends on how Haghghi does in Swedish league, he may get nod over Mazarehi. But the other two are essential right now.

Personally I think it will go between Hosseini and Abedzadeh for the 1st GK spot.

Hosseini had some solid saves right now against Sierra Leone, let's see if Amir starts today for Maritimo...

Hosseini has been playing really well for a while. Saying it is judging him on one performance is disingenuous.

Just seen the double-save off the penalty, sweet Allah...

Bring him on for Beiravand if any of our KO games go to penalties.

My main objection was his emotional breakdown which can be costly. Haghighi prior to the World Cup had been Perspolis’ keeper for several years, as well as having played in Russia with Rubin Kazan.

Plus as far as composure and calmness in the goal, the 2 are not even comparable.

Once again I do not deny Hosseini’s great goalkeeping ability. My main concern is his emotional and nerve wracking behavior. Did you see his face prior to the penalty? I felt poor guy will have a heart attack!

Hossini is indeed a decent keeper, however he has also proven numerous times not to be too reliable and consistent. My main issue with Hosseini being the main TM keeper is his excessive emotional behavior on the pitch (Of the pitch demeanor should not be a factor for any player's merit) His emotional reactions and overly sensitive behavior worries me. I don't think I need to mention them as I am sure all your football followers know what I am referring to.

Such extremely emotional players can be real fragile and temperamental as well, and we cannot risk it with our keeper. He is still young, with not much experience on the pitch with big and popular teams (Tremendous pressure) this pressure may take a toll on him in bigger stages and make him collapse. Give him a few more years guys and I am sure, he will turn into one of our best keepers hopefully!

Hosseini's double save on the penalty kick today was indeed a thing of beauty. But I feel like we get too hyped up or depressed over a player in just 1 performance.

I think its safe to assume that Beiranvand no longer should be considered to have the 1 spot as TM's GK in the WC. He has routinely looked terrible for over a year now. It is definitely a trend.

Whether right now the favorite should be Mazaheri, Abedzadeh or Hosseini... I do not know.

Ultimately, which ever of these guys gets to start at the WC, I think the goalkeeper position is going to be our weakest spot once the WC starts.

I still think we should wait to see him play against a much superior opponent, where he's tested many times before we get too excited about him.
Please tell me which game did Beiravand get tested agains strongly for us to decide that he is the best option? The only game he got tested against was our last Qualifiers where he led in 2 goals.

No one is saying Hossaini should be given the no.1 spot without being tested but for now he deserves to be the first GK to be tested for that no.1 spot.

You wanna rethink that statement now?
