Shojaei deserved that red card. You can't go brain dead when you are sitting on a yellow and go in challenging like that. However I don't really remember how he got his first yellow in the match and whether that was deserved or not.

Also, in the 2004 match vs. China, Karimi was brought down from behind while being 1v1 with the goalie and the Chinese player only saw a yellow when it was a clear red.

My goodness, if we want to release something of this caliber, we will have to have make sure we have enough space on the server - it could be as long as a movie trilogy.

Does the Iran-Japan game include the incident after the Japanese goal? I remember there was a lot of shouting and arguing and possibly shoving and a flurry of red cards for us but I haven't been able to find the footage since then.Originally posted by Nokhodi View PostMartin-Reza,
I have a 50 minute summary of the Iran-Saudi 88 match and 15 minute summaries of Iran-Saudi 84 and Iran-Japan 92.
How do I share them with you?
They are avi format (xvid or divx coding).

Ah good point... I forgot to include the failed penalties taken for/against us. Because I could not find those

In 1988 in the semifinals the 8-0ers received a penalty against us that Abedzadeh saved.Originally posted by Apower1298 View PostI believe you wanted info on our penalties record in the Asian cup. Here you go:
As for the penalties given for / against us:
1984
A penalty for us, against UAE and Singapore
Semi final: Lost on penalties against Saudi Arabia
3rd place: Lost on penalties against Kuwait
1988
3rd place: Won on penalties against China
1996
A penalty for us, against Iraq and South Korea
Semi final: Lost on penalties against Saudi Arabia
3rd place: Won on penalties against Kuwait
2004
A penalty for us, against Thailand and Bahrain
Semi final: Lost on penalties against China
2007
A penalty for us, against Malaysia
Quarter final: Lost on penalties against South Korea
2011
Against Iraq: Penalty given against us.
So it looks like we got our first AFC Asian cup penalty given against us only a few days ago. Other than that, we had quite a few penalties given for us in the past.

I don't think I've ever seen blatant cheating like I have sadist China in 2004. I mean holy fucking shit

I should also mention the 1980 Asian Cup. Right before the semi-finals Iraq invaded Iran and filthy Kuwaiti television was airing non-stop Iraqi propaganda.
I still don't understand how some Iranians can go and live in that country.

Martin-Reza,Originally posted by Martin-Reza View PostWe've been victim of poor officiating in AC since 1988, but I only have facts and videos from newer competitions.
Videos from the ACs 1988 vs. Saudis, 1992 vs. Japan and 1996 vs. Saudi would be very helpful.
If you have something in your private VCR collections, would be about time to digitalize it!
Also, I found we got three red cards vs. Japan in 1992, two reds vs. China in 2004 and now another red this time around, each times in the matches that eliminated us.
Plus we got two reds vs. Bahrain 2004 in the third place matchoff, in that game also one Bahraini was sent off and we and UAE got a red each in 2011.
So far that makes 9-2 against us in Asian Cup red cards since 1988 straight from memory. Can you help me complete this list?
Also awarded penalties for and against us would be interesting.
Any help appreciated.

2007 Asian Cup
South Korea versus Iran was played in an unplayable water logged pitch..

most questionable injustices i remember were:
-iran vs saudi 96, clear goal ruled offside on a rebound from a free kick!
-iran vs bahrain 2002 two clean goals called offside game ends in a tie
-bahrain vs iran 2002, unbelievable time wasting, nearly 30 percent of the game.
-iran vs china 2004
-wcq 2010, games not played simultaneously
-iran vs iraq 2015, one sided refereeing, iraqi pushes pouladi in front of the ref pouladi gets second yellow for embellishing. iraqis sitting on yellows get favorable calls and avoid second yellows.

1988 AC: Kermani Moghaddam's equalizer against the 8-0ers which was called back for no apparent reason.
1991 OQ: UAE losing on the last day 2-0 at home to qatar to allow them to advance instead of us (the home game qatar had won 2-1).
1992 AC: The Japan game from start to finish.
1996 AC: Game against 8-0ers in the semifinals.
2004 AC: Semifinal against China start to finish.
2004 AC: Red card against Kia versus the grass rollers.
And obviously this latest game against arogh.

watched both parts. Nothing on that incident.Originally posted by 04041374 View PostWatch the 6th/7th part of the film Gozareshgar by Majid Varess, there is some good footage about the game
He made a personal trip to Qatar back then

So it was not that game? I am confused.

I recall two incidences:
1. Mahdavikia was brought down by japanese defender and he received a red card rather than the japanese
2. Sattar zareh did the same thing to a Chinese as iraqi keeper did to Pooladi and he got red card.
note: in Bahrain match the player who brought Dej down near the goal kicked Dej while being on the ground but Dej kept on playing. It could have been a yellow card for the Bahraini idiot
