stop acting aloof, i am fine with your opinions here as they belong here it is your opinion cloaked under unbiased history lesson in the a fore mentioned thread that i had a problem with. but i like how more and more you are becoming iraqi, you started off as unbiased iranian went on to seyed then some najafi ancestors and now to being an iraqi giving his opinion on iraqi perspective. yet i still had to correct a couple of your posts as you were calling we they and they we.

I have mentioned this so many times, I am quite proud of having Iraqi ancestry and being a Najafi for that matter and that why I have been proud of mentioning it everywhere and also proud to be a Muslim. Many Iranians for your matter have Iraqi ancestry and have absorbed in to the normal Iranian population. Btw is Shahin Najafi is not Iranian according to you because of his surname, and I thought you would have been a big fan of the Salman Rushdie of Music and his anti-Islamic rhetoric. That's a shame.

These Iraqis when captured our towns they still what ever they could and cowardly killed many of our young man and women when they send their missiles randomly to strike our cities. Needless to say, Iraq played a dirty game, and many of their fans said some very dirty comments regarding Iran, same goes for Iranian fans toward Iraq, but I still appriciate your post Sumerian, showing that there is good thoughts and respect within some Iranians and Iraqi people still even after the game.

Iraq- Because some of my ancestry is Iraqi and I have always felt kind of an emotional connection to the people and the land and also sympathise with their recent troubles. Iraq is like a brother to Iran, despite the disputes in the past.

According to you I am not Iranian cause a part of my family came to IRAN and they have been living there for the past 500 or 400 some years ? All my family, parents and my grandparents were born in Iran, what do you expect to call myself? Anyway I am proud of having Iraqi Seyyed ancestry and also being a Muslim for your understanding.

First of all I am not the person being biased and I have encountered and read a lot of your posts in the past and there all ridiculous and have no sense or meaning to them and their full of bigotry. I may be a minority here but believe it or not in reality majority of your fellow Iranians are Muslims so respect our sentiments.

I have immense respect for TM's performance in the game. Credit to Iran for an amazing performance while playing a man down and constantly clawing back - the headers were an incredible display of aerial superiority.
I am also proud of the Iraqi team for playing an open game throughout - even before the red card Iraq had been creating chances up until the quick counter that led to Iran's opening goal.
The match aside, I'd like to make some remarks regarding prevailing narrative on these boards:

• Please quit the "Arabs" rhetoric: This Iraqi team does not represent "the Arabs" it represents Iraq alone and literally includes Kurds and an Assyrian in the squad.
• Please drop AFC conspiracy nonsense: Iraq has zero "pull" with that organization.
• Please stop channeling anger with ref towards Iraq: If IFF can prove Alaa Abdul Zahra was ineligible for this Asian Cup match then so be it, but there is no reason for vile remarks towards Iraqis across all social media platforms.

It's seriously a football game at the end of the day but people are trying to open up wounds and incite violence by joking about the difficulty of life in Iraq compared to Iran. This is going so much beyond sport and has become a platform for racism.
Iraq & Iran as allies have never been closer than they are today. Iraq is facing an existential threat and Iran is playing a huge role in helping destroy ISIS. It's a shame current goodwill is being tarnished by a football game.
I've been a longtime member of PFDC and know from experience that tensions always flare for a bit but reason always prevails in the end. Whatever the outcome, I hope the hate subsides soon. Peace.
