Exceptional performance today again. If we had 11 Amiris we would have made world cup semi-finals! -
Would have been included in the list of players we could look to phase out of the starting XI following 2018 alongside Ebrahimi and Hajsafi.
Thanks to the desperate state of our national pool of talent and domestic football league, we've been left with the horrific Nouro in for Ebrahimi and a Milad who is even worse than he was in 2018 for Hajsafi. On that basis, I look forward to seeing Amiri in USA/Mexico/Canada in 2026.Leave a comment:

Vahid grew up in this tiny village called "Dareh Badam" (translates to Almond Valley) in Lorestan province. The village was in such difficult terrain that you had problem walking in the fields let alone playing football. Here is a photo:
Vahid had to walk an hour to another village called Sarab Dowreh that had a dirt field. Imagine walking for an hour, play football, walk back another hour.
He studies hard and gets into law school in Khoram Abad in 2007. He first plays for the university futsal team and then in 2009 at the age of 20 starts playing for a third division team in Khoram Abad and keeps moving up until he ends up with Naft Masjed Soleyman in 2011 playing for Leegeh Azadegan (Iran's second division)
Finally in late 2014, PGL's Naft-eh Tehran picks him up at the age of 27 ... and here grabbing the ball from his later teammate Mehdi Taremi!
The rest is history when he is called up by CQ in 2015 and helps TM in Asian Cup in Australia and later scores against Chile in a friendly in Europe (I never forget that) ... and then joins Perspolis and shine in the WC 2018 with putting the ball through Pice's legs.
