Leaves football – becomes a McDonald’s boss
The 46-year-old has coached both Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga, but is now putting his coaching career on the shelf. After 183 matches on the touchline, he has decided to do something completely different.
He will now run two McDonald’s restaurants.
Becomes restaurant manager
Nouri will now manage two McDonald’s restaurants in the German city of Herzogenrath, writes Süddeutsche Zeitung.
The German had a 14-year playing career before moving into coaching. Of his matches as a coach, 45 were in Germany’s top division.
“I think there are many people in the industry who would like to try new things, but simply don’t have enough courage,” Nouri tells the newspaper.

Nouri believes there are clear similarities between being a football coach and a restaurant manager.
Coached in the Bundesliga
Nouri has a solid résumé in German football.
He led both Werder Bremen and Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga. In addition, he coached FC Ingolstadt in the German second division.
His most recent coaching job was with the Greek club Kavala.
Now he is swapping the tactics board for burgers and French fries.
“At the end of the day, both worlds are about getting people on board. In football it’s about the players; in the restaurant it’s about the employees,” he explains.
