i think its harsh to have the quarter finals as 1 leg in a neutral venue - it means the fans of most of these asian clubs cant see their team play and the atmosphere is bad unless its a saudi team playing . This was the same last year too

I’m here to talk about football, and only football, in this Iranian football forum.
No! Shoja is not a bad centre-back like many of you are trying to suggest and hating. He is clearly the best centre-back across all the Persian Gulf countries, even at his current age. Yes, he is not fast anymore, and he looked tired towards the end of this match as the team had just 10 players. He is not at the level of Top-3 asians like Khusanov, Ito, or Kim Min-jae. But he is still better than the centre-backs from Arab countries and better than the Iranian ones as well and that’s exactly why he keeps getting called up time after time.

He may not be very tall for a centre-back, but neither was Cannavaro. He compensate for it with his jumping ability. In his prime, he used to be very fast. Even now, he remains the best long-passing centre-back in the Iranian league and is very strong when it comes to anticipation (his best quality). He will need a young and quick (fresh) centre-back alongside him, but he is still the best centre-back we have, and I hope he has a great World Cup.

When I first started following Iranian football, the Islamic Republic was already in place. Even so, I developed a deep appreciation for Iran, its culture, and I became a fan of the national team in particular. That hasn’t changed. However, to those who are fighting for more freedom, I hope you can also respect the fact that I continue to support the Iranian national team despite everything that has been happening around it.
