At some point in life, anyone needs to take calculated risks because staying in the comfort zone and keeping it status quo means you are worse off in the long run. Besides, some opportunities in lives come only once and have a certain, short window of opportunity before it loses steam. There is a reason why people often have regrets about the chances in life they didn't take when they were younger or in the position to do so. The same thing applies in particular for Azmoun, since he had multiple opportunities to leave for a big league and didn't took it. He's also 26 and at this age in Europe you are no longer considered very young, so if he stays in Russia for the 9th season in a row he will stagnate and even decline. It's time to take the challenge and elevate his level, he can always go back to Russia if it doesn't work out. The big Russian teams will always want him since he is proven and no one will take his TM sport because no single Iranian CF is even close to his level (barring Taremi). As others said I'm also more inclined to the Leverkusen offer, Bundesliga is a good fit for Iranian players and if players like Weghorst, Haller etc. can bang in 15+ goals then Sardar will absolutely kill it in Germany. Hope he takes it.

Bundesliga and Leverkusen will be the perfect fit for Sardar Azmoun to shine. He will score plenty of goals together with Patrick Schick and they will play entertaining games against Bayern Munich, Dortmund etc. Serie A is basically dead, just look at their best Team Juventus, they can‘t even win the Championsleague with Ronaldo playing for them.

How can people say Seria A is the better league compared to BL... for example Seria A stadiums still mostly date back to 1990 world cup...just to start with!

Joke aside, Italian league would be more exciting with two games against both milan juve inter napoli atalanta and the derby against lazio. In Bundesliga only leipzig, bayern, Dortmund (Azmoun already played them btw) would be exciting.
In case he would succeed in Italy it would open the doors for other Iranian (a league that would suit our footballist).
I just don't understand how Germany totally closed their doors to our footballist suddenly and for long. It seems we are not welcome there. In comparison, Italian biggest médias speak about our players more often, make long articles to present azmoun, etc..
I also think it would be easier for him to make a big move from Roma and in case he fails, he would find a decent exit door
I dont know but have a feeling after Dejagah refused to go to the israeli game and all the media attention that gave maybe its due to that they dont get our players?
I understand why he refused to play the game and he explained he has family in Iran aswell.. maybe its bcuz of that the german hypocrites dont get our players.

Anyway, here is a few more "better than Roma" quotes. just for fun

Tractor Sazi is better then Roma.
Hajisafis long shots is better than Roma.
Masoud Shojaei is better than Roma.
Rassoul Khatibi and Reza Enayati is better than Roma
Esteel Azin is better than Roma.

Joke aside, Rome is a beutiful city.
Still hoping for a premier league move or a top 4 Italian team move but Leverkusen is ok, he do good there and Bayern will probably pick him up just like Daei/Hashemian. Still amazed that they didnt get Mahdavikia aswell

Regarding Bayer Leverkusen, has anyone else noticed/mentioned yet, that they just signed Zenit (and Russian national team member) goalkeeper Andrey Lunyov?

On 10 July 2021, he signed a two-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

Icardi was a world class CF at one point, that point is gone. He scored 7! League goals in FRANCE last season playing for PSG and 12! The season before. He was benched in many critical games vs tuchel and pochettino for...moise kean who can’t even get a game for Everton.

The guy is overweight, overpaid, and if azmoun had a <<wanda nara>> type agent I can only imagine what you would have to say about that considering how offended you seem to be that his parents live with him lol.
His achievements in Italy were fantastic but there is a reason inter shipped him off for a very cut price fee and since then his career is basically going down the tubes.

And btw, I’m not saying azmoun doesn’t deserve criticism. The very reason his parents live with him so long, berdyev said he wasn’t ready for a big move at rostov time Bc he had developed big ego, etc was Bc he has maturity issues. The people close to him know that and helped him through those times, or else I can guarantee you we would not see azmoun being fought over by two big european clubs today. In the meantime he has performed his task for TM impeccably and scored decisive goals whenever required, or busted his ass and man marked opposition CDMs from distributing the ball all game if needed. Never complained.

What has icardi done for you/us? An asshole who steals his best friends wife and then proceeds to irritate every club management in the world, get dropped from Argentinian NT, and fail to even put up consistent numbers for the best club in france

Done some more digging... Another intersting piece of trivia: his debut for the Russian national team was 10. October 2017 in a friendly against no other than Iran!

The game ended 1:1 with Iran's goal scored by Sardar Azmoun.

yeah he joined as a free agent. Solid GK, has some great reflexes, strong exits. Kicking/passing is a bit weak tho

If Sardar went to leverkusen that would probably help with adaptation.

For entertainment value the German league is much better than the Italian League. Fans can be brilliant too. But I think playing under Mourinho, as much as he has gone slightly downhill, is a great opportunity.
The decision will be up to Zenit though for what they want to accept.

Can we please stop calling Azmoun immature and bache naneh please. I only say that as I want the best for TM and I feel we are perpetuating this stereotype or reputation of Azmoun. He moved to Russia at a very early age and most parents would not part with their kid at that age so it was natural for them to move to Russia. Are we sure that he still lives with his parents? Living in the same city is not the same as living together. Just today, Sardar on his instagram declared how much he loves this girl and how the last three years with her have been so special. Doesn't sound like a bache naneh, whose mom picks a bride for him and they get married in a month.
Just because he jokes around doesn't mean he is immature. Most forwards have a clown type personality like they don't give a f*ck... You need a personality like that to be a forward, otherwise you want to commit suicide every time you miss a goal. The pressure is immense and unless you can deflect that with a joke or a nonchalant attitude, you'll go nuts.
He is in a good place in his private life. He is making more money than any other Iranian soccer player and he is wanted by a lot of top teams and is about to move to a top 4 league. I think he must have done many things well to be where he is now and deserves more of our respect.

Russian web site championat.com is reporting that Bayern Leverkusen and Zenit are close to reaching an agreement on Sardar's transfer. Here is the link https://www.championat.com/football/...-izvestno.html and Google translation is attached below (note that Varzesh3 has a piece that claims Championat has said they have already reached agreement and that is not what championat.com is saying. There is a difference between "... are close to reaching an agreement" ... and "have reached an agreement"):

                        Go Sardar!

The Iranian is clearly too late in the Russian championship (they mean he has stayed too long at RPL )

It 's a shame for Serdar Azmoun . A player with such potential could have long gone even to an average European club and continued to develop, but instead chose a couple of years of dubious progress at Zenit. I'm not sure that Azmoun basically got better after moving from Rubin, but over and over again he attracted scouts of elite clubs. And now, perhaps, the departure will finally take place. One of the Championship's sources claims that Zenit and Bayer are close to agreeing on a transfer. It remains to bring the deal to the end, and everyone will be happy.

Do not think that Sergei Semak is now shedding bitter tears. If Azmoun and Sebastian Driussi leave , the Zenit head coach will have at least some transfer budget and two slots for legionnaires. It's time to immerse yourself in creativity. One place is probably being prepared for Claudinho . Azmoun's departure will not be the most predictable outcome. Is an equivalent replacement ready for it? Not sure.

I am sure of something else: Serdar urgently needs to leave his comfort zone. At Zenit, he is in megalo-loyal conditions. The club hired him a personal assistant-translator, who flew everywhere with him, protected and supported. Therefore, it is not surprising that Zenit wants to make money on such investments. And a decent amount, given that Azmoun is one of the most valuable lots on the Russian transfer market.

It's funny that if he moves to Bayer, he can reunite with Andrey Lunev . Players will clearly find common topics for communication. True, Serdar never learned to speak Russian without hesitation within the framework of a large conversation, and not a few phrases. Perhaps in Germany, getting used to the local culture and language will go faster.

But, of course, it will be very difficult: first of all, psychologically. Serdar will leave the club, which has become really dear to him. He will get out of the greenhouse conditions to Germany, where, even in spite of the large transfer, hardly anyone will babysit him. I do not represent a personal player assistant or someone like that in the Bundesliga. We'll have to stand on a par with everyone and prove. As Lunev is doing now.

Tear up BL this season & next year he be kicking it in Bayern next year in CL playoffs & beyond ..!
Khoobi Roma ftb faghad obohat o shaher e ghashango bozorgtareshe..!

Risk e Roma raftan baraash ziade..! Go in a team in turmoil, with a new coach who’s mostly cautious playing & result driven & that in a league that is primarily defensive..!
But if he can shine in Rome & qualify them to CL then the rewards are more juicy …tall order that though ..!
Safer bet for his career advancement is Leverkuzen probably..!?
