no I agree they werent great/were liabilities. But im making the point that still they managed to upgrade clubs

They loaned out Mbaye Diagne to Club Brugge who scored 10 goals in 12 games for Gala and 20 goals in 17 games for Kasimpasa last season in Turkish Super Lig. Stupid decision, replacing him with a striker who is a complete shadow of his former self.

they are holding him hostage against his own will now too. Great. And before somebody says he has contract, yes, he was signed for at the time a record fee to be a main player, he wasnt signed with the plan being he spends two years in the stands or getting garbage minutes out of position.

Well, if they are holding on to him then he is in their plans. It would be bad business for Brighton not to loan him out, get part of his salary covered, get him going and possibly using him next summer/this winter or selling him if he is not in their plans. Him sitting on the bench or stands will decrease his value substantially. Football is a still a business.

id read between the lines...
ultimately the parties probably couldnt come up with financial agreement to grease the loan (loan with buy option) through..!!
BHA probably netted a better overall deal offloading Locadia and Andone instead..!!? and now they look rather too thin on attacking (winger) front and can ill-afford to let go of Ali too, specially for (probably lou$y figure$..!) PSV was willing to part with in order to acquire him..!!
