I would pretty much go with the same as against Spain, but I have a feeling that CQ might start Gucci instead of Azmoun.
Also want to see Ghoddos earlier in the game.

Pretty sure Hajsafi won't be 100%. I like this lineup but with Mohammadi at LB.

FIFA puts Hajsafi in the team of the day or the week. He has been impressive. Milad is somewhat shaky but fast and I like his cross.

Oh I don't disagree. I meant that Hajsafi is nursing an injury and won't be 100% fit for the match.

I really hope we adapt the same tactics as against Spain...don't let Portugal get an early goal, try to nick a goal on a set pieceo or counter...it's fine even if it stays 0-0 until 20 minutes to go. We only need ONE goal. Stick to what we do best

The longer the game stays in balance, the more anxiety, nerves and panic will set in for Portugal. Only if it's still 0-0 with 20 minutes to go, I think we should go all out for the winner and risk getting countered. As a fan it may not be the nicest thing for us, but it's best for team melli's success in this match.

Amiri has been easily our best player in this tournament by none. It's even more obvious if you were in the stadium. It really opens your eyes up, I have been guilty of that too. He was EVERYWHERE, non-stop running, breaking up play, setting up counter opportunities. Whereas for example I was disgusted by Lewandowski's work ethic when I saw him in close up in Poland-Senegal match at Spartak Stadium.

What I want is for the players to take confidence in what they did with the ball after Spain scored. I think against Morocco and the first half vs Spain, when Iran did have the ball they were too negative with it. Lumping up the pitch make sense in some situations, but not in all of them. I think against Spain with Taremi's nutmeg of Silva. Ezzatolahi's nutmeg of Silva, and Amiri's nutmeg of Pique that they began to realize that the Spanish players are not immortal Gods and they are not lowly AFC players.

I hope the game v Portugal will be a synthesis of the lessons learned V Morocco and Portugal. More than anything I want Iran to leave the tournament with a goal that wasn't scored by an own goal, they deserve this much at least.
