We've actually played 3 World Cup participating teams, not just one. In addition to Tunisia, we've also played Russia and Panama

Some of you guys need to realize that the Sierra Leone, Syria, and Uzbekistan friendlies are on non-Fifa dates. These games are for our domestic players only.

The friendlies vs. Tunisia, Algeria, Russia, Panama, Turkey, etc. are on FIFA dates. These are quality friendlies. I do wish we could have played a top class team in preparation for Spain and Portugal, but it is what it is. And who cares about who Saudi is playing in their friendlies, we obviously would put up a better fight against the like of Belgium, Italy, etc, but we all know they're gonna get plowed by their whole group, so they're preparation is the same as a guy who has a lifted truck but a small dick haha.

FIFA did screw us over in the draw, theres no way you cannot tell me it was not rigged, but thats another story.

        Go TM!
        SHOW TIME!

What a useless thread considering our lesser friendlies were played on NON-FIFA DAYS! And as for our other friendlies they were pretty solid, and I’m proud we went for those African teams to get a simulation of what it’s like to play Morocco.

Our friendlies aren't the best, but in terms of quantity and types of opponents they're great.
Also our camp is probably the best in Russia.

lol some of you are so poroo. We have already had friendlies against 3 WC qualified teams. How many of these friendlies did we have in the run up to Brazil 2014? That's right the answer is zero.

It would be nice to play some big name European teams but we really can't complain against friendlies against the likes of Russia, Panama, Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey and Greece. Besides, our whole WC will depend on our results in the first game against Morocco. These friendlies are all aimed at Morocco.

The lame friendlies against the likes of Syria and Uzbekistan should not be complained about. These are NON-FIFA DAYS and it would be very difficult to schedule a friendly against decent opposition on non-fifa days. Besides these friendlies are for our domestic players anyway, many of whom will not make the WC roster for TM. So there is no reason to complain about games against crap teams like Sierra Leone or Syria.

Overall our preparation is not amazing and but its not bad either. It is somewhere in between especially considering the geopolitical situation Iran has been faced with in recent times.

Are our preparations ideal? Probably not.

Are they better than our preparations for WC 2014? Absolutely.

I dont care if these are not scheduled on FIFA days. Playing Siere Leon B/C team and War torn Syrian team will not make TM better. You guys are missing the point here. Asia's #1 team deserves better. Please bring up your standards.

Iran by far has the worst preparations as far as friendlies go. The new PEC is a good improvement along with the additional camps but quality of friendlies need to improve if we want to be serious.
These friendlies are okay at best. We are mainly just going all in for the Morocco match and then hoping for a miracle in Spain/Portugal games.

We have really only prepared to play against Morocco by playing some north African teams.... We needed at least 3 prep games against European teams to be somewhat prepared for Spain and Portugal.
this pretty much sums up my overall opinion on the matter..!!
simply not good enough Tests runs to adequately familiarize our players for the level of the challenge awaiting them at WC..!!
like Roozbeh mentioned below, once again were back @ hoping and preying for Gheyrat o Resolve to miraculously advance us from that group...!!
now if IFF fails to provide Carlos with his desired 40 day strength & stamina building boot camp, then there is a good chance that not only fail to advance from the groups, but very likely embarrass ourselves in the process @ russia..!!

Ok, who would you like to play during a non-FIFA Day (where nearly all leagues are playing)?
Or should we pay Germany 10 Million bucks to stop their league and come to Tehran to play our B/C Team (without Legionnaires)?
The sense of this game is to test the local player, not prepare us for Spain.

Are you sure that all 4 teams will participate? They actually just need an odd number of guests, that´s why Japan already has participated in the past.

Iran would perform so good in this tournament...
But again, these are all countries which buy for huge amounts the broadcasting rights for the Copa America and also offer Sponsorship.

I would be very upset if Iraq or KSA would participate. But the above mentioned countries are considered as money-bringer. Nothing more, and nothing less.

For example, I doubt that Tunisia, Morocco and Panama have better friendlies.

Did you make any kind of research before this useless post?¿ Panama played Switzerland and Denmark on the last two match days and before that they played us and Wales which is already a better preparation and how you even bothered to check Tunisia’s games??? They played us and Costa Rica and they’re going on to play Portugal and Spain plus Turkey lol not to mention Argentina’s playing Morocco in May.
Please do some research before commenting things like this ppl our preparation is the worst considering our group yet there’s nothing that we can do anymore except to make the best of it. Besides there’s a high possibility we are going to get SOOSKD
