Al Hilal, and Al Ahli are strong in the year saudi league. Al Jazira is strong in UAE.

all in all, the groups seems to be very equal, everything can happen, from place 1-4...

iranian teams traditionally starts strong in the first match, but can not improve or copy this to the following matches..
Yup, including Esteghlal Khuzestan. I think if they hold on to their key players (which I kinda doubt) they can get out of the group even tho it's their first ACL

PP needs to stop getting ahead of themselves, just because they have a good team right now doesn't mean they will win ACL. They have been without a title for 10 years domestically and you never know what to expect of them. ZZ's group to me looks like the group of death, PP's group is also difficult. Esteghlal Khuzestan probably got the best draw and Esteghlal if they can get past Al Sadd.

sorry to sound so pessimistic, our clubs have no chance against those big rich clubs. we have to be realistic about it.

Esteghlal Khuzestan was quite strong last year. You'd wish they could have kept their personnel together for at least another year in order to do well in the ACL. Ultimately a lot of the success factors result from quality planning, having a clever strategy and great management. Persepolis seems to be the one Iranian club that has high odds of progressing deep into this edition's tournament.

The saudis are in full meldown mode after what happened in syria. They didn't even show up to the acl jersey meetings because they didnt want to be in the same room as iranian representatives. Shame that these people mix politics and sport so much.

Zob Ahan will host Al-Ahli in Oman. Not a good decision

SS Khuzestan is falling apart. They will be Abkesh in ACL. They just lost 3-0 to Naft Masjed Soleyman (Azadegan end table team) in a friendly match.

So far, Pourghaz and Jalal Abdi officially left the team. If the financial problems are solved, the remaining players will stay, so there will be less damage.

Reigning champions Jeonbuk Motors have been banned from 2017 ACL because of a match-fixing scandal in the K League. What a joke. To be honest, Korean people are as bad as Arabs when it comes to corruptions in sports. 2002 World Cup and 2014 Asian Games....

SS Khouzestan is in a better state than before. They will be fine. It's their first ACL experience. I'm not expecting too much from them. I see them qualify out of their group and maybe make it to the quarter-finals. But then Esteghlal and Persepolis will ruin a team that goes far in the ACL by purchasing their players. We will see.

I Hope Esteghlal qualifys too, that way we have 4 of our clubs in Asia this year.

PP like any other team will bow out in the second right quick. If they even make it. In order to win this thing you need a non corrupt federation and money. Which these guys don't have none. Until this regime is here no Iranian team nor TM will win anything at all. Good luck to Branko but your team is still a mess when they play

Persepolis has a good chance to advance up to semi final if we manage to defeat Al Hilal.
