I personally think that one of our weaker links still remain our attacking line. Taremi has been inconsistent and not a true finisher (Just yet) and seems like we have failed to add a quality striker, since a domestic striker nowadays is quite rare, I was hoping to see a good foreign striker added to the team.

    Nonetheless Ghermezete shadidan!
I think this is the start to a championship team, Branko is building towards that, regardless of our league result this season he must be our coach next season. That being said wes still have a strong team. Our goals realistically should be:
    1. Top 3/4 finish in the league
    2. Win the Hazfi Cup

Next year hopefully our financial issues are solved and he can buy some great players to fill our weaknesses. We are long overdue for a league title, 7 years is too long for Asia' most popular club.

One thing positive Persepolis has done this season is formally create a PR department. You can see the video of recent team events and trainings on the website which are interesting. Also they are the first Iranian club to have an official facebook and insta account.

Apparently this is our new home kit for the upcoming season. I like it a lot, we are like Real Madrid we are identified with a colour, we shouldn't have extra colours, plain red is how it should be. Classy kit.

        Persepolis beat Altyn Asyr 5-0.

        Starting line up was:
        -------------------Makani----------------------
        Rezaeian-----Maric----Bengar---------Hatami
        -------------Kamyabinia--Kamandani--------
        ------------------Ahmadzadeh----------------
        Khaligifar-------Alipour--------------Norouzi

In the first half Ahmadzadeh and Alipour (2x) to make it 3-0.

In the second half Alipour completed his hattrick, and Rezaeian and Khaligifar had a nice combination to score the fifth.

Great to hear Branco say the boys are looking real motivated, one of the bigger things the club has lacked in the last few seasons:

I have high hopes for this year, we undoubtedly have the best young squad in Iran and I think/hope Branco will be able to utilize it. Finally a good situation for us.

                          Ratings from todays match:
Sadeghi - 4 (wasn't tested much apart from 2 goals)
Hatami - 7 (did pretty well at left back)
Bengar - 3 (At fault for both goals, terrible overall today)
Maric - 5 (Ok game, did well for most of the match except the 2nd goal)
Rezaeian - 6 (Not a great game, but he should what he is capable of, his crosses are absolutely deadly)
Kafshgari - 6 (Did ok holding the game in the middle)
Kamyabinia - 6 (Completed most of his passes, had some terrible shots on net though)
Kamandani - 7 (Great young player, he has great technique and brought a lot of energy)
Norouzi - 9 (Had an assist and a sensational goal, I remember a few years ago people were claiming the only reason played for Persepolis was because he was a Basiji and had some connections in vezarat varzesh. He is captain now, he has come a long long way)
Alipour - 7 (Nice header goal, should have had another a few minutes after, decent game from him)
Ahmadzadeh - 8 (He looks like a great player, showed some great flashes today)

Prepare yourself for another long and nerve wrecking season my red brothers...

The 1st game aside, I would like to share my opinion about our squad first:

                            - I love the fact that we have injected so much young blood over the last 2 years. This is fantastic, but at the same time we unfortunately easily lost some experienced key players as well. Losing Jalal Hosseini destroyed our defense, thanks to Mr.Botox things got worse as Nilson left us as well - now Nouri is gone. We have no leader in the squad, no "savior" and no one that can pick up & change the game.

                            - Mohammad Nouri's loss will haunt us badly! I was hoping for Shojaei to replace him; however we did not manage to find a proper replacement.

                            - Our attacking line looks quite promising. With likes of Taremi, Alipour, Ahmadzadeh, Alishah, Mosalman, Kamandani and hopefully Abbaszadeh we have enough material for the future.

                            - Why did we keep Khaleghifar? Not a bad player, but he is 31 and has no future. Replacing him with Gholamreza Rezaei would have been great.

                            - This season can be the breakthrough for Milad Kamandani. This guy is skilled, keep an eye on him...

                            - I have a feeling Rezaeian will revolutionize our right wing, but we still have no LB! I am not convinced with Hatami, we should test Heydarieh & Ansari.

                            Regarding the match:

I was satisfied with our offence: Ahmadzadeh & Kamandani gave us a taste of their skills, while Alipour looked sharper. With Taremi & Alishah coming back + Mosalman reaching top form - all we need is a bit harmony & flow with the rest and these guys could seriously electrize the league. Rezaeian also did a good job to boost our attack!

It's our defense that makes me worry! The DM is good - I think Nourollahi, Kafshgari & Kamyabinia will take care of it. However our LB looks weak, while our CB's are inconsistent. Also we have no replacement for Rezaeian as RB. Hopefully at least Makani will finally be more consistent. Those 2 goals we conceded were really laughable - Badamaki assisted and scored + couple of times easily got past our defenders. It’s shameful to be humiliated by a more or less finished player.

Overall a disappointing and frustrating result, but we have to wait and see...
