No way is Euro cup tougher than WC.

If that were the case most of the Euro teams would have made it out of the group stages in the WC.

In the WC you have small teams like australia, Iran, Cameroun, Honduras and lot of average ones.

In euro cup you can have a group like Italy - Holland - France - Romania (EUro200 for ex) or Germany - Holland - Portugal - Denmark (Euro2012). you don't have the equivalent in WC

Holland face Mexico and Costa rica to reach the semis this year what a joke.

And it is not because Europeans did a bad show this year means they are bad. An european won the whole thing for example.

If I remember correctly, the mighty Euro teams of Italy, England and Croatia couldn't beat Costa Rica or Mexico.

In the Euro cup you have teams like Latvia, Serbia, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, Austria, Romania, Czech and then average ones like Greece, Croatia, England, etc...

Let's put it this way, Greece will never win the WC, that would be a real joke.

Only Euros think the Euro cup is more difficult than the WC.

What happened to Italy, Euro winner Spain, Croatia, England, Russia, Portugal, Bosnia?

Half those teams regularly advance in the Euros, but they couldn't even finish 2nd in the WC group stages.

1/the teams you quote aren't as weak as Cameroun, Honduras, Iran, Australia or Saudi Arabia (in 2002), Jamaica (in 1998) etc... they are at worst average.

2/ Greece won the Euro2004 and qualify from their group this year WC

3/Spain won the WC four years ago so what? all teams have high and low. I can quote you team that didn't do well in Euro and did well 2 years after in the WC. It means sh1t.

    1. Yes they are. Serbia 2006. Did you forget the Argentina match?

    2. Again, Greece won. They would never win the WC.

You still haven't explained why more than 50% of the Euro teams couldn't get out of the group stages. Surely if they are so good the would at least advance in the WC?

Serbia was thrashed once so what? They are able to produce quality players.

Euro teams did bad at one world cup doesnt mean they have a low level in general. Accident can happen. And you dont speak about all europeans that advance

Umm, 50% of Euro teams didn't advance in 2010 either.

Again, you have no basis for what you say.

Euro cup is like South America cup, they both have high quality matches, but nothing near the WC.

"Confusion mars Irans camp after friendly cancellation

Confusion has gripped Iranian national team camp, barely a week after they cancelled a planned friendly match with Kenya’s Harambee Stars

Confusion has gripped Iranian national team camp, barely a week after they cancelled a planned friendly with Kenya’s Harambee Stars.

The match which was supposed to take place on November 14 was called off by Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) President Ali Kaffashian, over what he described as abnormal fee demands by his Kenyan counterparts.

FFIRI then reached out to Zimbabwe as a replacement to Kenya, but Fifa rules barred the Warriors from playing in a different continent, as they had already penned another friendly fixture against Morocco two days later.

While Iran was fielding their senior team, Zimbabwe Warriors were fielding their U-23 side, which is preparing for Olympic Qualifiers next year.

A planned training camp in South Africa starting December also looks unlikely, after the indecisive FFIRI was quoted as expressing fears over Ebola in South Africa. The President of FFIRI Ali Kaffashian has since ordered that the team change location to an exclusive island on the Persian Gulf, an area he discovered on a private holiday trip.

Team Melli had also agreed with Zimbabwe to play a warm-up match on December 19, 2014, in Johannesburg, but Australian media report that South Africa's Bafana Bafana will most likely face the Persian side on the same date and then after face Palestine and Iraq before start of Asian Cup.

Coached by Carlos Quieroz, a one-time assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United‎ during 2007-2008 season, Iran's friendly matches are said to be constantly marred by confusion, due to interference by many agents affiliated to various officials in FFIRI and technical bench."
