I wish Amir the best. He certainly has had an unconventional career so far, and at first I was worried that he was a Sharu Naraji kind of figure when he first started playing football, turning out for Dinamo Dorigo (a sunday league team named after Tony Dorigo....) and London Tigers in the Spartan South Midlands League (12th tier of English football pyramid) , Persian FC London in the local Enfield league (even lower) .... But his return to Iran seems to have given him the stimulus for success, and he's gone from Sunday league to a world cup slot.
