Iran vs Cambodia Post Match Ratings

Well done! This Cambodia team plays with a lot of heart. Post your match ratings here:

Abedzadeh 8, didn't have to do much but his distribution really impressed me

Milad Mohammadi- 7.5, started out a bit poor with his passes and touch, but did well as the game went on with a goal, an assist, and forced an own goal

Shoja- 8.5, got a goal and had some good through balls and clearances

PAG- 9, was excellent in defense and had a few good headers, one ending up in the back of the net.

Sadegh- 8, did a great job keeping possession and had some good crosses, one of which was a nice assist to Kaveh

Ezatolahi- 7.5, our best CDM or 6. Was unlucky not to score his penalty. Was spotless defensively.

Nourollahi- 8, was great in attack today, amazing vision and created lots of chances

Ghoddos- 8.5, had at least two assists today. Was superb in controlling and dictating the play of the game. Unlucky not to score!

Gholizadeh- 7, not his best day but still was solid.

Jahanbakhsh- 9.5 (MOTM), had one or two assists, created a penalty chance for himself, scored the penalty, and also created multiple other chances for guys like Taremi who couldn't capitalize. And still had enough energy to get back on defense and win countless balls? Clearly my MOTM

Taremi- 8, seemed a bit tired today but I can't blame him since he's been playing 90 minutes left and right. Still scored a beautiful goal in the first half.

    SUBS:

Sarlak 7, linked up extremely well with the players and I thought he did a great job

Ansarifard 7, scored a penalty and had some decent runs

Ghayedi 9, What a player. Had two assists and a goal in like 30 minutes? This guy will be something special..

Kaveh 8, scored a brace, could've had maybe 4 or 5 goals if not for some easy misses. Either way when someone scores a brace, you get at least an 8 for me

Majid Hosseini 8, I thought he looked really good on defense. Cool calm and composed.

I honestly don't have ratings for this game as I don't think we were really challenged.
Even situations where would have been better, I think was just down to mentally being checked out rather than the challenge of the opponent.
Ghodoos and Taremi the only ones who treated this game professionally in terms of approach.

Also again Kudos to the Cambodian team and staff for trying to play football.
Teams like Bahrain are not much better than this Cambodia team if they try to play open flowing football.

Very good performance from the boys. I am glad coach didn't risk Sardar and took Taremi off at half-time. I hope Saman playing full match doesn't mean he won't start the next game.

      Abedzadeh- 8

      Milad Mohammadi- 6.5

      Shoja- 7.5

      PAG- 8

      Sadegh- 7.5

      Ezatolahi- 7

      Nourollahi- 7.5

      Ghoddos- 9

      Gholizadeh- 7

      Jahanbakhsh- 9

      Taremi- 6.5

      SUBS:

      Sarlak 7

      Ansarifard 7

      Ghayedi 9

      Kaveh 7.5

      Majid Hosseini 7.5

I agree with your assessments. Considering the level of competition, Knockdown everyone by 1 and I 100% agree with it.

Goli was crap today, again! Shoja had a nice goal, but some head scratching decisions in the back. When he tried to dribble to Cambodian defenders, and loses the ball to a counter attack. Saman and JB were really good.

Again, not really a game to seriously judge anybody by. For me:

1- Better than expected: Ghaedi, Ghoddos, Sarlak. Ghaedi has played in ACL and done really well. His games for TM have been pretty good too. His decision making is superb (most of the time), his footwork while dribbling is world-class. His confidence is beyond his years. He should start against Iraq.

2- Met expectations, but nothing to write home about: Taremi, Ezzi (although I love his game). Taremi did what he is capable and expected to do. Ezzi is a key player for TM. He anchors the midfield and plays a rational game when building up or when defending. Second half, he should have done better, but being up 5 or 6, it is hard to concentrate. I cannot understand why he is not a fixed player in a much bigger club.

3- Below expectations: JB, Gholi.. JB had many touches again, but against a team like Cambodia and HK, that is not relevant. Something has happened to him in England and not for the better. He is just not the same player he was when he played in Holland. I hope he changes my mind if he plays against Iraq. Gholi was just poor.

All others, not really able to judge against a team that took in 10 which could be 15.

Watched 2nd half only and based on that loved the no frills of Ghodos & liked the lively Ghaedi. But overall good performance by all and as mentioned kudos to Cambodia for trying so hard.

I respectfully disagree on JB. Maybe I missed something, but besides not converting on a couple of good opportunities what didn’t he do? The guy nearly won all his challenges, he pressed and pressured the defender, made great passes, and never lost the ball in the middle 3rd.

Abedzadeh ????? no rating from me as I hardly saw him on the screen

Sadegh mo= 8, played 90 minutes with his full potential . gotta give it to this guy
Shoja- 8, didn't get much but when he did he played well
PAG- 9, Solid DF and scored a goal - as expected.
Milad Mo- 8, Assisted and scored. played well

Ezza- 6, Nightmare ! Very poor perfomance by him! Its his 2nd time that he missed a good goal opportunity
                    Nourollahi = 8, great game
Ghoddos- 9, dude did everything and was all over the place! assisted goals and was unlucky not to score
Gholizadeh- 7.5, great game as expected

ARJ- 8 , good game still not the same Alireza that we all remember
Taremi- 8.5, was told to take it easy and still scored a nice goal and got a penalty

                    SUBS:

Sarlak 5, did not see much from him except one chance.

                    Ansarifard 7, no comment

Ghayedi 9 (MOM), damn from the minute he came in he destroyed all cambodian players. if we had him from beginning the scored line would've been 15-18.

Kaveh 7, scored 2 goals and missed couple of open chances

Majid Hosseini 7, didn't do much

I can't really give a rating for this game, as Cambodia was honestly an amateur team. Respect to them for not sitting back, fouling, or wasting time, and always trying to score. My impressions overall:

                      The Good:
                      - Jahanbakhsh played very well again, he is really stepping up right now when we desperately need leadership. He should start instead of Gholizadeh vs Iraq
                      - Ghoddos had a great second half, he is our most mentally strong player, I think his first 90 minutes in TM? I still hope to see better shots from him, you can see he has an European mentality, he never stopped taking this game seriously or lost his concentration.
                      - Pouraliganji is ready to start, and is much better than Kanani. Glad his play hasn't declined in China, he also as an insane jump, really a threat on corners.
                      - Shoja seems to always be stable and calm, I am sure he will do the same vs Iraq
                      - I have been very impressed with Moharami as RB, seems like our coach really trusts him too.
                      - Our CDMs were much more compact defensively and organized without Hajsafi ruining the game. Also we had better corners / freekicks, without Hajsafi hogging them
                      - Ghaedi is now our #1 impact sub, ahead of Torabi, this kid is a beast
                      - Karim is an excellent sub to bring on to calm down the game and lead our youngsters. Glad he has his confidence back and is still performing. Often his efforts go unnoticed because a lot of his contributions are off the ball

                      The Negatives:
                      - I don't know what to make of Mohammadi. A first half performance that poor, against a team like Cambodia is very alarming. Then he went to score, assist, draw an own goal, and send a perfect cross to Rezaei lol... But defensively, he is a question mark right now
                      - We weren't really tested today, but our defense overall still managed to have moments of shakiness, which is inexcusable against a team like Cambodia
                      - Gholizadeh has looked poor during this stage of the campaign during a time when we really needed him to perform.
                      - Ezatolahi really needs to work on his offensive capabilities

I hope for Iraq our lineup is

                      -----------------Beiranvand---------------
                      --Moharami--Shoja--Pouraliganji--Mohammadi-
                      -------------Ezatolahi--Nourolahi----------------
                      -----Taremi--------Ghoddos-------Jahanbakhsh-
                      ---------------------Azmoun---------------------
                      --------------------------Beiranvand-------------------
                      --Moharrami----Hosseini--Kanaani----Amiri--
                      ------------------Ezatolahi-----Ebrahimi--------------
                      --Jahanbaksh---------Ghoddos------------Taremi--
                      ---------------------------Azmoun----------------------

Hard game to judge everybody by since the opposition was so poor.

General Impressions: I don't know whether it was the lack of extra gear or the pitch but our team missed a LOT of sitters today. Kaveh missed 2 headers that should be an absolute snack for any professional forward. Taremi was rather wasteful too. I also think there were many counters/breaks/2 v 1 situations which i lost count of where our attackers just didn't make the right decisions and lacked some cohesion. Now i know for a fact that this is overly critical considering we got a 10 - 0 win but im just picturing how we would apply ourselves in these chances in a more high stakes match such as Iraq. If anything I think this game should've been a good attacking rehearsal, a chance for the team to polish up their interplay and get on the same page in critical moments.

Other than all of that I think they got the job done. Loved Ezatollahi holding it down, loved Ghoddos. Mohammadi seems to have lost his touch a bit and his deliveries were very poor today. ARJ with some great passing and hustle but pretty bad at scoring himself. Took a great penalty though. Ghaedi is a wonderful super sub idea, very quick and can easily draw a penalty against tired defenders.

yes Ghaedi was the big positive that I take from today. he can be a very important deciding factor if he gets subbed in around the 60 minute mark if we are at a draw result then..
