Saudi Prince Omar Al Somah to play Iran next week?

For the longest time I wondered why one of Syria's most talented football players didn't help Syria in the qualifiers early on in the qualification campaign.

But it seems that whatever prevented him from being on their national football team, didn't prevent him from playing against Qatar today. He helped his team get the 3 points.

I for one wasn't certain where his loyalties lied. I wish Syria the best of luck next week.

I would like to know what you guys think and how you guys feel about this player?

It's no secret that he's a big star in the Saudi football league and his name has been mentioned here in the forums (whether video game related or not). It's also not a secret that he celebrates a little extra hard when he scores against our clubs. We all know how much he loves Saudi Arabia and that Saudi money.

He's been a deciding factor for Al Ahli many times when they play in the champions league. Scoring against Teraktor late in the match a few years back, or against Zob Ahan and Persepolis this year.

But will he be a deciding factor for Syria next week on Tuesday? I'm honestly surprised to see him join their national team so late in the campaign. I've also never been a fan of him for his attitude against our clubs.

I don't know who he is, and I am not worried about him or his team. We will crush Syria, and maintain our streak of not conceding goals.

Is it normal for Syrians (and other asian team fans) to creep our forums?

I don't care if Syria "deserves" to qualify or if a loss against them would prevent any of our rivals from qualifying to the WC. Professional athletes must always strive for winning.

In other words, I'm expecting a convincing victory on Tuesday, even though the Syrian team has impressed me during this campaign. One of their former players was my neighbour for some years, and I have a great respect for them. But considering how the first game between the teams ended last fall, I would like to see our boys take their revenge. Professionally.

I hope we crush the Syrians and their dreams as a payback for what happened during that ridiculous ''game'' in the first leg.

Omar Al Somah is a good striker. He is tall (193cm) and has scored 75 goals in 70 games in the Saudi league. We should watch out for him.

Soma is a really good striker for Asian standards, but honestly with out defense I'm not worried about him.

Besides, if I was the Syrian coach, I wouldn't even call him up. He joins the team now that he sees theres a small possibility of making the world cup. I doubt CQ would invite someone like that.
