{"id":40789,"date":"2020-10-27T10:09:50","date_gmt":"2020-10-27T17:09:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=40789"},"modified":"2020-10-27T10:09:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-27T17:09:50","slug":"ffiri-confirms-date-for-general-assembly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2020\/10\/27\/ffiri-confirms-date-for-general-assembly\/","title":{"rendered":"FFIRI confirms date for General Assembly"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tehran Times &#8211; TEHRAN, <strong>The General Assembly of the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) will be held on Nov. 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FFIRI acting president Heydar Baharvand has said that the federation\u2019s General Assembly will be held on Nov. 28 via video conference due to coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After several months of controversies, the draft statues of the Federation is on the verge of being approved by football\u2019s world governing body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It started more than a year ago when FIFA ordered the Iranian federation to observe some requirements in its statutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The FFIRI has tried to amend the statutes based on the observations made by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA, as well as considering the country\u2019s law. The federation sent the amended statutes to FIFA after months of negotiations and discussion in the FFIRI\u2019s Executive Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, FIFA rejected the draft statutes several times and even in May 2020, it set a short deadline for the Iranian football federation to either amend its statutes or face global suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The international governing body of football had objected to FFIRI\u2019s drafted statues due to concerns over potential government interference in the federation\u2019s affairs.
