{"id":37553,"date":"2019-09-21T18:58:22","date_gmt":"2019-09-22T01:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=37553"},"modified":"2019-09-21T18:58:22","modified_gmt":"2019-09-22T01:58:22","slug":"setback-for-alireza-jahanbakhsh-but-he-will-keep-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2019\/09\/21\/setback-for-alireza-jahanbakhsh-but-he-will-keep-working\/","title":{"rendered":"Setback for Alireza Jahanbakhsh but he will keep working"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Argus &#8211; BRIGHTON, <strong>It has been one of those seasons for Alireza Jahanbakhsh so far.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of favour at the start of the campaign as far as the starting XI goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Left off the bench as Graham Potter looked to cover all bases with his six outfield options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And now hit by a minor but annoying injury, just when opportunity might have knocked to be among the subs at least.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Iran international will be missing again today as\u00a0Albion\u00a0visit Newcastle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the venue where he played his first full 90 minutes in the Premier League almost a year ago as\u00a0Albion\u00a0won 1-0. Things have not moved on as expected since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until add-on clauses are met by summer signings this year, The Argus understands Jahanbakhsh remains Albion\u2019s record signing at \u00a317 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he has yet to justify that fee and, unlike most of his colleagues, remains in a sort of limbo even after the change of management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some have survived the cut and adapted to different roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others have been sent out on loan with varying degrees of (un)likelihood as to whether they will return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the situation for Jahanbaksh remains the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is here but not really here in first team terms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That might \u2013 repeat, might \u2013 have changed had he been fit when Martin Montoya went down with tonsillitis ahead of the Burnley game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But only had he returned from action with Iran in tip-top shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potter told The Argus: \u201cAlireza felt uncomfortable in his thigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe reported it in the international break and came back with a bit of uncomfortable feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe shouldn\u2019t be too far away but he obviously misses the game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jahanbakhsh\u2019s frustrations have not dampened the enthusiasm of his hordes of fans in Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If anything, they are keener than ever to know what is happening with their idol and to give their own opinions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps tellingly, no one thought to ask about Jahanbakhsh\u2019s absence when Potter spoke to the media soon after the Burnley game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At his press conference on Thursday afternoon, the Albion head coach was asked about the player\u2019s current state of morale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He replied: \u201cI saw him today, He is good, he is working hard to get back fit..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese things happen sometimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe has been good around the group, he trains hard when he does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe wants to play, wants to help the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s disappointing for him that he has picked this up now because he would probably have had an opportunity to be in amongst it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThat is how it is.
