{"id":36144,"date":"2019-04-23T10:35:39","date_gmt":"2019-04-23T17:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=36144"},"modified":"2019-04-23T10:35:41","modified_gmt":"2019-04-23T17:35:41","slug":"persepolis-must-win-remaining-matches-coach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2019\/04\/23\/persepolis-must-win-remaining-matches-coach\/","title":{"rendered":"Persepolis must win remaining matches: coach"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tehran Times &#8211; TEHRAN, <strong>Persepolis coach Branko Ivankovic labeled remaining two matches against Uzbekistan\u2019s Pakhtakor and Al Sadd of Qatar as must-win games. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Persepolis lost to Saudi Arabia\u2019s Al Ahli \n2-1 in Group D of the AFC Champions League on Monday at the Maktoum bin \nRashid Al Maktoum Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result left Persepolis at the bottom of the table with just four points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al Sadd top the group with seven points. \nAl Ahli are second with six points and Pakhtakor slipped down to third \nplace with five points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am so sorry after we failed to win the \nmatch because we were the better team but lost the match. Persepolis \ndefeated Al Ahli 2-0 in their previous match but we showed a better \nfootball in our second match, however we failed to win,\u201d Ivankovic said \nin the post-match news conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI cannot criticize my players because \nthey played well. This is football and you cannot talk about that. My \nplayers are very exhausted because of our busy fixture and also it is \nvery hot here,\u201d the Croat added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will travel to Tashkent to face \nPakhtakor in Matchday Five and must defeat them. We must also beat Al \nSadd in our home. We can do it.
