Football League World – NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, Nottingham Forest\u2019s season hasn\u2019t quite gone to plan this term, with the Reds struggling to mount a play-off push and falling well short in recent weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The change in manager a few months ago which saw Aitor Karanka replaced by Martin O\u2019Neill has not worked out for Forest at all, and the former Ireland manager is already coming under some pressure from sections of the City Ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club made a host of new signings over the summer and were expected to challenge for the top six, and one of the those players to join the club\u00a0 in 2018 was striker Karim Ansarifard, who made the move to the Midlands following a spell with Olympiakos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It hasn\u2019t worked out though for the Iranian striker, who has only one goal to his name in a Forest shirt amid injury problems which have kept him out of the team of late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week though saw the striker take to social media to show an\u00a0image\u00a0of himself enjoying life in the gym, which suggested a return to fitness was not too far away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we aren\u2019t convinced that this could have any sort of bearing on Ansarifard\u2019s future at the City Ground given there is only three games left of the Championship season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iranian might well fall foul of yet more change at the club, and unless Martin O\u2019Neill has seen something he fancies during his spell with the Reds, then it could well be curtains for the striker come the summer months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s little doubt that the 29-year-old has talent in the bag, having played for his country during the last World Cup in Russia, but it could well be a case of just not working out for a player who has a proven goalscoring record at other clubs during his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will certainly be interesting to see how this one pans out, but looking in at the moment from an outside point of view, there doesn\u2019t seem to too much hope for Ansarifard and his future under Martin O\u2019Neill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
