{"id":34319,"date":"2018-12-01T11:15:08","date_gmt":"2018-12-01T19:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=34319"},"modified":"2018-12-03T10:30:15","modified_gmt":"2018-12-03T18:30:15","slug":"afshin-ghotbi-named-foolad-coach-official","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2018\/12\/01\/afshin-ghotbi-named-foolad-coach-official\/","title":{"rendered":"Afshin Ghotbi named Foolad coach [Official]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tehran Times &#8211; AHVAZ, <strong>Afshin Ghotbi has been officially named as new head coach of Foolad Khuzestan football team on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ghotbi has penned an 18-month contract with Ahvaz based football team, replacing Aziz Farisat in Foolad.<\/p>\n<p>The two-time Iran league winners parted company with Sirous Pourmousavi in September following poor start to the Iran Professional League (IPL) season.<\/p>\n<p>Pourmousavi\u2019s Romanian assistant Ilie Stan took charge of Foolad but he was also sacked after two months.<\/p>\n<p>Farisat also failed to meet expectations and Foolad opened negotiations with the 54-year-old coach.<\/p>\n<p>Ghotbi was without a team since parting company with Chinese club Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to qualify for the AFC Champions League with Foolad, that\u2019s why I am here. I received a warm welcome from the Foolad fans and it can be a good sign.
