{"id":33863,"date":"2018-10-24T19:44:55","date_gmt":"2018-10-25T02:44:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=33863"},"modified":"2018-10-24T19:44:55","modified_gmt":"2018-10-25T02:44:55","slug":"ferreira-rues-first-leg-as-al-sadd-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2018\/10\/24\/ferreira-rues-first-leg-as-al-sadd-exit\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferreira rues first leg as Al Sadd exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"afc-o-large-grid\">\n<div class=\"story-content stretch-image\">\n<p>AFC &#8211; TEHRAN, <strong>Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira blamed a difficult first leg result for complicating matters for his side, following their AFC Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Persepolis on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"container-fluid story-content\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-xs-12\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>After suffering a 1-0 defeat at home in the first leg, Al Sadd made a bright start in Tehran and levelled the aggregate score through Baghdad Bounedjah in the 17th minute.<\/p>\n<p>However, Siamak Nemati&#8217;s volleyed strike right after half-time restored Persepolis&#8217; advantage, and the Iranians kept the visitors at bay for the rest of the game to go through to the final 2-1 on aggregate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe played well in both legs but we could not make use of the chances which came our way,&#8221; said Ferreira.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In the first leg, we conceded a penalty that led to our defeat and the exit from the tournament. This is how football is.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first leg result made things difficult for us. He was the difference against us. He is truly a great goalkeeper; he fought and kept out our attack. There may have been other good players in the Persepolis team but the one who made the result possible was Beiranvand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wasted many chances at home and also at the Azadi and we weren\u2019t able to score more than one goal. But <strong>I must admit, it&#8217;s great to play in Iran.
