HITC – GLASGOW, Celtic are keen on Sardar Azmoun and he plans to decide his future next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Scottish Sun reported this summer that Celtic had lined up Sardar Azmoun as their top transfer target in case of a need to replace Moussa Dembele.<\/p>\n

The striker ended up remaining at Celtic, although his long term future at the club will remain subject of speculation.<\/p>\n

Azmoun’s future is no closer to being resolved either, with the attacker remaining with Russian side Rubin Kazan.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old has though stated his intention to move on next summer.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Azmoun said: “I want to play in the big leagues and I will make the best decision after the 2018 World Cup.<\/p>\n

“I need to play the first team because I believe that dropping out of starting lineup for a month can harm each player\u2019s form.”<\/p>\n

While Azmoun may not regard Scottish football as one of the ‘big leagues’ he could move to, the club will likely be able to offer him Champions League football.<\/p>\n

Also likely to work in their favour is his desire to play regularly, with his chances of this likely to be better than joining a side like Liverpool who he has also been linked to previously.<\/p>\n

Azmoun will play for Iran at the World Cup next summer, and his performances there could help determine his future.<\/p>\n

Celtic’s desire will depend on whether they feel they can hold onto Dembele.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
