PressTV – SHYMKENT, Iran\u2019s national under-17 soccer team has overwhelmed Russia at the preliminary round of the 9th edition of Kazakhstan President Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Iranians managed to chalk up another convincing win on Tuesday, notching up a 10-0 victory over the Russian outfit in their second Group B fixture held in the southern Kazakh city of Shymkent.<\/p>\n

Younes Delfi, Hossein Nokhodkar and Amir Hossein Hosseinpour netted a brace each, while midfielders Vahid Namdari and Saeed Ahani besides defender Mohammad Ghaderi scored a goal each. One of the Russian footballers also sent the ball into the back of his side\u2019s net and struck an own goal.<\/p>\n

The Persians had achieved a 3-0 victory over Azerbaijan in their opening match the previous day.<\/p>\n

The ninth edition of Kazakhstan President Cup started in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, on August 7 and will wrap up on August 13.<\/p>\n

Group A consists of teams from Albania, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n

The Islamic Republic of Iran\u2019s under-17 soccer team is in Group B with Azerbaijan, Russia and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n

Kazakhstan President Cup is an international U-17 football tournament, which is held annually under the supervision of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan and FIFA. The first edition of the sporting event was staged in April 2008.<\/p>\n

The champions will receive a cash prize of USD 1,000, the runners-up will get USD 6,000 and the third-place finishers will be awarded USD 4,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
