{"id":24846,"date":"2016-04-10T16:39:48","date_gmt":"2016-04-10T23:39:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/?p=24846"},"modified":"2016-04-10T16:50:08","modified_gmt":"2016-04-10T23:50:08","slug":"iranian-team-finishes-2nd-in-world-schools-championship-futsal-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2016\/04\/10\/iranian-team-finishes-2nd-in-world-schools-championship-futsal-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Iranian team finishes 2nd in World Schools Championship Futsal 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PressTV &#8211; POREC, <strong>Young Iranian futsal players have ended their campaign at the World Schools Championship Futsal 2016 in Croatia, finishing second in the international sporting event after losing to Brazil.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nOn Saturday evening, East Azarbaijan outfit, which was representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in the 8-day-long tournament, suffered a bitter 6-0 from the strong Brazilian side in a match played in the western Croatian resort town of Porec.<\/p>\n<p>The Iranian futsal players had earned a position in the final showdown following a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Croatia 2 the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>The junior Iranian athletes overcame Slovak 3-0 in the quarterfinal round to take on the hosts in the semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>Iran had joined Belgium FL, Croatia 2, Cyprus, France, and Kosovo in Group D of the World Schools Championship Futsal 2016.<\/p>\n<p>While Austria, Brazil, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Serbia formed Group A, Belgium FC, England, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey were drawn in Group B.
