AFC – KUALA LUMPUR, The Asian Football Confederation has extended its deepest condolences on the passing of Persepolis captain Hadi Norouzi who died at the age 30 on Thursday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Iranian club\u2019s team manager Mahmoud Khordbin was reported as saying that the national team striker had passed away in his sleep following a heart attack.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old Norouzi, born in Babol in the Mazandaran province, began his senior club career with Pasargad in 2005 before moving to Fajr Sepah Tehran a year later and then on to Damash Iranian in 2007.<\/p>\n

In 2008, he transferred to top flight Persepolis where he spent seven years, the biggest portion of his career, that also included a loan stint from 2013 to 2014 at another top flight Naft Tehran.<\/p>\n

Norouzi most recently skippered Tehran-based Persepolis to the Round of 16 of the 2015 AFC Champions League and represented his country during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n

The thoughts and prayers of the AFC, the I.R. Iran Football Federation and the rest of the Asian football community are with the family and friends of Norouzi<\/p>\n
