Persianfootball.com – TEHRAN, 28 players were named to participate in the Iranian national team’s upcoming training camp in Austria from May 12 to 31.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Besides the already earlier eliminated Sepahan trio Omid Ebrahimi, Shoja Khalilzadeh and Yaghoub Karimi and the injured Mohsen Mosalman, four players were omitted from the squad.<\/p>\n

The dropped players are Persepolis starlet Payam Sadeghian, Foolad Khuzestan left-back Mehrdad Jamaati, young Tractor Sazi goalkeeper Hamed Lak and veteran striker Reza Norouzi of Naft Tehran.<\/p>\n

While ten legionnaires from Europe, MLS and the Persian Gulf, including youngsters Sardar Azmoun and Alireza Jahanbakhsh, were added, no new domestic players were invited, which means veteran star playmaker Ali Karimi will almost certainly not be considered for World Cup anymore.<\/p>\n

Iran have to name a preliminary 30-man squad to FIFA until May 13 and then announce the final 23-man World Cup roster until June 2.<\/p>\n
