Persianfootball.com – BEIRUT, Daniel Davari expressed his happiness about his national team debut in an interview with German sprots magazine “kicker” on Wednesday, but pointed out he is not taking a World Cup squad slot for granted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I don’t know if I will be part of it [the World Cup]. I am glad that I was part of the two matches now and that we won twice”, Davari said when asked about his chances of taking part in Brazil 2014.<\/p>\n

“I am happy about this, the rest has to be seen. It’s also very important for Iran to be part of the Asian Cup.<\/p>\n

“I always try to give my best and to impress in training and during matches. I am glad that I played and could help the team.”<\/p>\n

Asked about his feelings towards Iran as someone who was born in Germany the Eintracht Braunschweig goalkeeper was quick to point out his heritage.<\/p>\n

“I have Iranian blood in my veins. My father is from Iran. Thereby I of course got to know the Iranian mentality and lifestyle.<\/p>\n

“Also I have many relatives in Iran. What I still have to learn is the language. I still have deficits there.”<\/p>\n

In regards to Iran’s chances at the World Cup, Davari explained much will depend on the draw on December 6.<\/p>\n

“But one can see we possess quality and are very dangerous upfront”, the 25-year-old added.<\/p>\n

“Defensively we barely let anything happen. I only had to save three or four shots in the last two matches. That indeed stands for quality.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
