{"id":13333,"date":"2012-12-18T19:34:52","date_gmt":"2012-12-19T03:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2012\/12\/18\/farhad-majidi-returns-to-esteghlal\/"},"modified":"2012-12-18T19:34:52","modified_gmt":"2012-12-19T03:34:52","slug":"farhad-majidi-returns-to-esteghlal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2012\/12\/18\/farhad-majidi-returns-to-esteghlal\/","title":{"rendered":"Farhad Majidi returns to Esteghlal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; float: right;\" alt=\"MajidiCelebrating1\" src=\"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/MajidiCelebrating1.jpg\" height=\"214\" width=\"320\" \/>TEHRAN TIMES &#8211; TEHRAN, <strong>Farhad Majidi came out of retirement and re-signed a contract with Esteghlal football team on Monday night.<\/strong> <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>The 36-year-old striker, who had announced his retirement from football in late September, joined Esteghlal on an 18-month contract. <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Majidi joined Qatari club Al Gharrafa on loan last season in the winter transfer window and he has been without a team in the current season. <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>There has always been a long-lasting hostility between Majidi and current Esteghlal coach Amir Ghalenoei. <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Majidi had said that he will never work with Ghalenoei but it seems the two men have buried the hatchet. <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>Esteghlal general manager Ali Fatollahzadeh said Majidi will wear captain\u2019s armband at the team. <br \/>&nbsp;<br \/>\u201cEsteghlal captaincy is a big honor for me.
