{"id":12259,"date":"2011-06-29T05:58:41","date_gmt":"2011-06-29T12:58:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2011\/06\/29\/kaffashian-expresses-condolence-over-ivics-death\/"},"modified":"2011-06-29T05:58:41","modified_gmt":"2011-06-29T12:58:41","slug":"kaffashian-expresses-condolence-over-ivics-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2011\/06\/29\/kaffashian-expresses-condolence-over-ivics-death\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaffashian expresses condolence over Ivic&#8217;s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" alt=\"kafashian\" src=\"https:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kafashian.jpg\" height=\"150\" width=\"250\" \/>MNA &#8211; TEHRAN, <strong>Head of Iran Football Federation (IFF) Ali Kaffashian on Tuesday expressed condolence with his Croatian counterpart Vlatko Markovic over the death of legendary coach Tomislav Ivic. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Former Croatia coach Tomislav Ivic died at the age of 77 on Friday at a hospital in Split due to diabetes and heart problems.<\/p>\n<p>Ivic was named as Iran football coach in January 1997 on a six-month contract to succeed Brazilian Valdeir Vieira but was sacked three weeks before the start of the 1998 World Cup finals after the national team lost 7-1 to Italian club AS Roma in a friendly match. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the behalf of Iran football family, I wish to express my sympathy to the Croatian football society. Undoubtedly, it\u2019s so hard to accept Ivic\u2019s death for his family.
