We’ve analysed the first match and we will try to improve over the next two matches.

“The UAE gave us some trouble so we will try to emphasise more on the defence and we will work more on our tactics.”

DPR Korea have never beaten Iran but Jo insisted his men were keen to alter that record, while revealing there would be no departure from their usual cagey style.

“It could have a psychological impact on the players and the coaches but now our players are mentally prepared, they have confidence and are optimistic and this can translate into performance,” he added.

“We like to counter-attack so this means we will defend solidly and then try to use counter attacks against the opposition.

“We saw Iran play against Iraq and according to our analysis, they play with good physical fitness, they are a good side, they use the full width of the pitch and switch play from one flank to the other, so we will draw up our tactics according to their playing style.

“The Iranian defenders have good strength and power so we will look for a high tempo, better movement and make more chances in the match.”

Jo also believes Hong and Jong Tae-se will prove more influential against Iran following ineffectual performances last time out.

“They were not physically prepared for the first match but they are getting better and better and I think they will display their skills in the next game,” he said.

Midfielder An Yong-hak also highlighted the impact of the Bochum (Jong) and FC Rostov (Hong) players have had on the squad.

“They have shared the experience that cannot be gained in our country’s domestic league. They mentor the team and they give a good impression not only on the pitch but off it as well.”

AFC – DOHA, Coach Jo Tong-sop conceded DPR Korea’s Group D game with Iran at…

[86

post-11839","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-c13-team-melli-news
["GET
