<\/strong>Last year’s beaten Asian Champions League (ACL) finalists Zob Ahan have claimed a 1-1 draw away to Korean FA Cup winners Suwon Bluewings in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The match started in brutal fashion, after collisions between Suwon’s Diego Oliveira and various players of Zob Ahan occurred in short intervals.<\/p>\n

This didn’t stop Diego from his regular pushes down the right flank, as his set-plays for fellow strikers Stevica Ristic and skipper Yeom Ki-Hun found their marks, although no goals were made early on.<\/p>\n

Several minutes into the match there was a close call in Suwon’s penalty area, as Zob Ahan’s star foreigner Igor Castro edged past two Bluewings defenders, including Mato Neretljak, and launched a point-blank shot at the goal. Fortunately for Suwon, Korea international keeper Jung Sung-Ryong made a superb save.<\/p>\n

After the half-time break, things got ugly for the Korean side as Mohammad Ghazi<\/strong> scored the first goal of the match for Zob Ahan, due to a terrible mistake by four Suwon defenders. <\/p>\n

A reprieve arrived for Suwon however, as midfielder Park Hyun-Beom<\/strong> suddenly equalised from long range on 68 minutes. <\/p>\n

The Bluewings took a chance to make the final push as the time ticked by, by subbing in Uzbek striker Alexander Geynrikh, but even though as the ‘Ibrahimovic of Suwon’ made some excellent shots, it wasn’t enough to find the decisive goal the fans of Grand Bleu were waiting for.<\/p>\n

The final result gives Zob Ahan the advantage ahead of their second leg in Iran on September 28. <\/p>\n
