{"id":11392,"date":"2010-08-04T18:12:25","date_gmt":"2010-08-05T01:12:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2010\/08\/04\/iraq-fa-tenure-extended-by-fifa\/"},"modified":"2010-08-04T18:12:25","modified_gmt":"2010-08-05T01:12:25","slug":"iraq-fa-tenure-extended-by-fifa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/2010\/08\/04\/iraq-fa-tenure-extended-by-fifa\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraq FA tenure extended by FIFA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" alt=\"iraq_champ_01\" src=\"http:\/\/www.persianfootball.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/iraq_champ_01.jpg\" height=\"238\" width=\"353\" \/>AFC &#8211; KUALA LUMPUR, <strong>The suspense over Iraq\u2019s participation in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011\u2122  has ended with FIFA extending the tenure of the current Iraq Football  Association (IFA) executive committee for a year. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The decision lifted the threat of another suspension and will  enable the Iraq national team to defend their continental title in Doha  next January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFIFA has taken note of the situation which  surrounded the elections of the new IFA board on 24 July 2010 with the  holding of two General Assemblies in Arbil and in Baghdad,\u201d FIFA said in  a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder these circumstances, the case was refered to  the FIFA Emergency Committee which decided to extend the current  mandate of the IFA Executive Committee for one year, meaning until 31  July 2011.
