PFDC - DUBAI, The Iranian international and newly contracted Al Wasl player who was unluckily side-lined with a harsh injury in his second match for his club, was believed to be seriously injured before X-ray examination. But after the exam, it has shown to be just a mild injury despite what was previously anticipated by team doctors.

This would have cast shadows over the participation of this talented and energetic player for Iran national team in the crucial World Cup qualifier against Bahrain in Manama in February.

Alireza Vahedi Nikbakht has long time established himself as a starter in most of the matches for Team Melli since Branko's predator, Miroslav Blazevic who discovered the young motivated player who since his joining Team Melli, has become the most capped player in his position (left midfield) so far.

After his crucial away goal against Jordan which paved the way for Iran to bag an important win and the fact that he was just coming back from an injury and a short period of absence, has surely created a certain kind of confidence towards  him which will make it much harder for Branko to deny him to play.

Now with the addition of the German Bundesliga star, Fereydoon Zandi, it will be very interesting to see who will get to start against Bahrain in February 9th.
