Sliškovic gathers Iran party

UEFA - SARAJEVO, Blaz Sliškovic has announced a 19-man squad for Bosnia-Herzegovina's forthcoming friendly in Iran.

The coach has named a strong selection for the game in Tehran on 2 February, but has decided to leave behind midfielder Zlatan Bajramovic to concentrate on club commitments with SC Freiburg. Another German-based player, VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Mirko Hrgovic, is omitted due to injury.

"We are travelling to Tehran to test our strength after the winter break," said Sliškovic. "This is our final test before the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Belgium on 26 March. A victory against Iran would lift our spirits and help us prepare for a victory in Belgium to stay on course for second place in the group and the play-offs for Germany."
