PFDC - KAISERSLAUTERN, A non-Iranian official news outlet has for the first time announced that Fereydoon Zandi has chosen Iran as his Senior National Team. The former German under-21 International has been quoted by the official website of his club, Bundesliga's Kaiserslautern FC as having made the choice.

The article quotes Zandi as saying that he took some time to make the decision, and laised with Iranian National Team officials.Ultimately the very realistic possibility of being able to participate in World Cup 2006 in his country of residence, Germany swayed him towards choosing Iran.
