F.A. - ABU DHABI, Emirates league leaders Al Jazira suffered an embarrassing 3-1 away defeat at the hands of bottom placed Al Khaleej, while Al Nasr went down by a similar score to Al Wahda in Friday’s 10th round of league matches.

Al Wahda’s loss earlier in the evening came as a surprise but was nothing compared to Al Khaleej’s stunning performance as they inflicted Al Jazira’s first league loss of the season. It was a bitter result for the league leaders particularly after a magnificent performance against championship rivals Al Ahli in their previous game.
 
Al Wahda were pushed to the brink after Al Nasr had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half. The home team virtually sealed the game in the 73rd minute through a spot kick from Brazilian pro Valder.
 
Ismail Matar struck in injury time for the visitors but the visitors were truly outplayed by a rejuvenated Al Nasr on the night.
 
Valder had opened the scoring for the blue shirts after some good work from the midfield opened the door for the Brazilian to fire the first of his two goals past a hapless Ramadan Malallah in the 23rd minute.
 
Mohammed Khamis added the second in the 43rd minute glancing home a curling free kick from the right flank by Yousef Mousa.
 
Meanwhile, Boubacar Sanogo fired a spot kick to lead Al Ain to a narrow 1-0 home result over Emirates.
 
The result was a good one for Milan Macala’s men following the poor results of pace setters Al Jazira and Al Wahda. It took Al Ain’s tally to 19 and placed them third in the league table after Al Shaab suffered a 2-1 away loss to Al Shabab.
 
Al Shabab’s Brazilian pro Geraldo and Eisa Obaid fired second half goals for their fourth win after UAE international Mohammed Suroor had given Al Shaab a 1-0 lead at half time.
 
Ahmed Shah headed a right cross from Ali Karimi for Al Ahli to snatch a slim 1-0 home victory over Al Wasl whilst Sharjah edged out Dubai 2-1 at home and Al Dhafra were held 1-1 by the visiting Al Ittihad.
