PFDC - LIVORNO, Former Milan-man and newly appointed Livorno coach Roberto Donadoni lead his side to a 3-1 victory over Messina. After a goalless first period, Vigiani's great effort from far out beat Messina's Storari to make it 1-0.
Colombo doubled the lead, when he received a long ball in unspotted offside position, however, produced a bad header which bounced back to the Livorno-man from Iranian defender Rahman Rezaei's head, who converted from short range. Although not looking well in this situation, Rezaei left alone and stuck between two Livorno-players had virtually no chance to prevent the goal.
However, in minute 75, both Rezaei and Aronica were caught napping, when a great ball found it's way through the central defense and Protti's foot, who made it 3-0. Giampa's goal for Messina then came too late to still trouble Livorno.
Rahman Rezaei, who did not look as souvereign as usual, was then subbed out four minutes to the end for midfielder Cucciari.
Messina now stand in 15th position of Serie A, only two points ahead of a relegation spot. The Sicilians, however, will be able to improve their ranking on Wednesday, when they will meet bottom placed Atalanta in a postponed match from week 16.
