PFDC - San Jose, Now Branko has Zandi. How big is this event? The magnitude of this event is portrayed in Branko's statement that he will offer Zandi ANY POSITION WHICH HE WISHES! This is how big Branko feels getting Zandi is.
Being born, and raised in Germany, and having been grown in German Soccer, Zandi is a professional soccer player with discipline. Professional players in prime soccer nations will either follow instructions and work hard, or sit on the bench. German's soccer specially is known for having players play the role that is assigned to them on the field. Zandi can be a model for other players in this area. He will have other players (such as Hashemian, Mahdavi-Kia, Daei, Azizi who have played in German Leagues) be the bridge for the other players who have only played in Iran. That means, the players who have only played in Iran, will watch Zandi, and will get help from players like Hashemian on how to become Zandi-like (in being disciplined, and following instructions).
Additionally, Zandi brings confidence to the Iranian Soccer Team camp. After all, we now have a player from German's under 20 National Team who is playing on our team. Being born and raised in a society with positive attitude and outlook, Zandi can improve the team's morale in tight situations. Also, shall we get qualified for WC2006, Zandi will bring another level of confidence to our team by being familiar with the society, culture, stadiums, fans, etc. His experience can definitely help the team.
Branko is the man who got us Ferydoon Zandi. There were many obstacles in his way, including ignorant soccer figures such as Parvin, etc. And now, Branko has a problem; a problem that any coach envies to have: Daei, Hashemian, Karimi, Azizi, Nikbakht, Moharam Navid-Kia, Iman Mob-ali, Mahdavi-Kia, Kaabi, Alavi, Nekonam, Rezaee, Nosrati, Bagheri, .... And the list goes on!! Who is going to play, and who is going to sit on the bench?
Branko has assembled one heck of a team. I would not want to be the coach of Bahrain or Japan during these times.
