Loading...Tasnim – TEHRAN, Esteghlal Tehran and Sepahan of Isfahan football teams played out a goalless draw in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, the Blues missed two important points ahead of Friday’s Tehran derby against Persepolis.
Esteghlal could not return to the top of IPL table and is second with 45 points, one point adrift of leader Esteghlal Khuzestan.
“Our players were thinking about derby. We didn’t play well in the second half and also didn’t create opportunities. Of course, I think Sepahan came here to draw,” Esteghlal coach Parviz Mazloumi said in the post-match news conference.
Earlier in the day, Tractor Sazi of Tabriz defeated Zobahan 2-1 in Isfahan and is back on title race.
