Tasnim – TEHRAN, The Iranian national football team defeated South Korea for the third successive time on Tuesday.

Rubin Kazan striker Sardar Azmoun, who came on as a substitute, scored his first goal for Team Melli in the 82nd minute in the friendly math held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.

Iran has already defeated South Korea in its previous two matches in Tehran and Ulsan respectively in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

This match was Uli Stielike’s last chance to test players in action before naming the South Korean roster for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

Iran will also play South Africa on December 19th in Johannesburg.

Iran and South Korea are preparing for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, which will open in January in Australia.

Iran is in Group C along with the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain and South Korea has been pitted in Group A along with Australia, Oman and Kuwait.
