Persianfootball.com – PAMPLONA, Iran’s national team captain Javad Nekounam’s second spell at CA Osasuna will be officially announced on Monday, reports from Spain suggest.

Nekounam was supposed to travel to Pamplona on Tuesday and be presented on Wednesday, but visa issues delayed the 33-year-old’s arrival and so the official presenation was moved to the beginning of next week.

The defensive midfielder had joined the Basques after the 2006 World Cup and played six successful seasons in La Liga before parting from Osasuna in 2012. After spells with Esteghlal Tehran and Kuwait SC and Osasuna’s relegation to Segunda Division, Nekounam will now return to the club.

Reportedly the fan favourite will earn around 400,000 Euros per season.

Free agent Masoud Shojaei, who had been at Osasuna from 2007 – 2013, is also linked to a return to the Navarra stadium.
