Tehran Times – TOKYO, Aria Jasuru Hasegawa could be a member of the Iranian football team at the 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup, according to Iran coach Omid Namazi.

“We are in the early stages at the moment. First, we have to find out whether he is eligible to join the Iranian football team,” Carlos Queiroz assistant Namazi said on Monday.

Hasegawa is a Japanese football player of Iranian descent who plays for F.C. Tokyo.

Queiroz is going to enforce the Iranian football team for the 2014 World Cup, where the Persians have been drawn along with Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Nigeria.

Alberto Zaccheroni has invited Hasegawa to Japan football team but the 25-year-old midfielder has not played for the Asian giant so far.

Hasegawa would be another member of Iran’s diaspora to be integrated into the national team after Ferydoon Zandi (2005), Amir Shapourzadeh (2008), Ashkan Dejagah (2012), Reza Ghoochannejhad (2012), Omid Nazari (2012), Daniel Davari (2013) and Steven Beitashour (2013).
