Persianfootball.com – LONDON, Ashkan Dejagah’s ankle injury, which he sustained in Premier League last week, turned out to be more serious than expected.

The FC Fulham winger will have to undergo surgery and will be out for up to three months.

While initial reports had suggested the Iranian international would return within one or two weeks, later news said it would be a season ligament ending injury with a recovery time of three months.

Fulham boss Martin Jol, however, recently talked about 4-6 week.

While the latter would allow Dejagah to take part in Team Melli’s vital three final World Cup qualifiers in June, anything above that timespan would mean the 26-year-old would be out of the games.

Deja vu

Dejagah had also struggled with an injury almost exactly a year ago and had been doubtful for two World Cup qualifiers.

The rightfooter had injured himself in Bundesliga in May and eventually failed to recover for the clash in Uzbekistan in early June, but came on as a second half substitute against Qatar a week later.
