PTV - Iran's national team soccer coach, Afshin Qotbi, has had positive talks with england-teamEngland's football officials to hold some friendly matches.

“Afshin Qotbi had positive talks with England's football officials to hold a training camp and some friendly matches,” Iran's Football Federation Vice President Mehdi Taj told IRNA on Sunday.

“Qotbi traveled to England for a few days to hold talks with England's football officials. We are now waiting for their response,” he went on to say.

According to Taj, the Iranian soccer squad is also scheduled to play a friendly against Bahrain in Manama August 31 and will play Uzbekistan in another preparatory match on September 5.

“We have analyzed the Bahrain side and aim to secure victory as we did against Bosnia, which raised morale in the Iranian players,” Qotbi said on Sunday.

Iran fought back from two goals behind to snatch a 3-2 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in a soccer friendly match in Sarajevo on August 12.

“The Iranian squad technical staff's aim is to develop a national team that will achieve fine results in future matches,” he added.

“All players who show great performance in any club would be invited to the national team,” he explained.

The Iranian national soccer squad has recently dropped three spots to stand in 61st place in the latest FIFA world football rankings.
