Most footballers come from poor backgrounds especially South American ones. If they have ambition and want to be their best they go to Europe.

Turkish source on potential move to Turkey for Ali Karimi. Interview with his agent/manager. Apparently several clubs are in contact including Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas. Also mentions a Qatari club, AZ, and Fortuna Sittard:

"Ali Dursun, who was a manager in the Netherlands and Belgium this morning, announced that Trabzonspor was interested in Ali Karimi, who played in Esteghlal. Sina Ranjbaran, the manager of the Iranian football player in Istanbul, spoke to Gazete Stamp. He conveyed the latest developments about the player's situation.
Clubs continue to work to strengthen their staff. The last player to be mentioned was Ali Karimi . Many teams are in play for the 26-year-old midfielder, who is shown as one of the most important football players of the Iranian league and also has a national team career. Our reporter Burak Zihni met with manager Sina Ranjbaran and received information on many issues.

We are in contact with currently five teams. Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Trabzonspor, Kasımpaşa and Esenyurt. Ali is its very confident and wants to play here. We got one and 1.2 million euro bid from Qatar. The Netherlands AZ in addition to Alkmaar and Fortuna Sittard wanted a team in Belgium.'re playing I think the 1.2 million euro will be in Qatar, 500 thousand euros in Turkey. AZ 500 thousand, Fortune also suggested 600 thousand euros gross salary. think and make the best choice We want. My opinion would be good for him if he goes to Trabzonspor, which includes Majid Hosseini. His friend and they played in the same team, "he said."

Wowwwww....really? I’d love to believe those clubs are interested in karimi but I’m super skeptical considering his stint in Croatia. He definitely had a strong season for Esteghlal but fenerbache besiktas and Trabzonspor and AZ? Very very skeptical of the validity

Would be great to get some more Midfielders playing in reputable European clubs but I’m not gonna hold my breathe on this happening

I think Fortuna is a semi-realistic transfer for Ali! For one, the clubs chair is a Turkish Media Mogul and is probably more receptive to Iranian's than a European owner. 2nd, their star midfielder Mark Diemers left the club and so far there seems to be only 3 authentic central midfielders meaning he has a decent shot to compete for a starting spot and will most likely get a decent amount of sub appearances without having to prove much. 3rd Fortuna has had some players from countries not known for European Imports like Moldova and Venezuela so they probably have a decent know how on how to handle foreign imports

                Important takeaways:

                • Moghanlou finally received his visa and is expected to travel to Portugal Monday night (09/21/20)

                • Santa Clara have activated a termination clause in Moghanlou's contract which allows him to leave for €80,000

                • Will have to be in quarantine for at least a week prior to completing his medicals for the club and finalizing his deal with Santa Clara

Iman Salimi's future with Tractor will be determined next week. He has offers from abroad & he has presented them to the club.

It remains to be seen if he stays or leaves. Reports are suggesting Tractor is in talks with Hadi Mohammadi to replace him. (No he didn't go to Goa FC)

No. He's on his way to Qatar to join Esteghlal for the ACL as all matches are in Doha.

He is already registered with Maritimo and part of their squad, now he is just waiting on his visa. Their president revealed yesterday that Alipour should arrive in Madeira next week since bureaucratic problems have been resolved.

Can't wait for that Safawi Rasid x Jafar Salmani link up

                              https://bancada.pt/futebol/portugal/...-esta-enganado

"Anyone who thinks they can compete in the League on tiptoes and high heels is wrong"

The coach of Portimonense, Paulo Sérgio, said today that his team should face a Monday reception to Paços de Ferreira, in the debut in the 2020/21 edition of the 1st Football League, as "the first final" of the season.

"[We have to] look at this game as the first final right now. It's not about starting to look at the end of the championship, calling all games finals. This is the first final we have to play and this is the mentality that the team must have ", said the team coach who, last season, was 17th magazine, but avoided the descent after the failure of the financial financial assumptions by Vitória de Setúbal.

Speaking at the press conference previewing the match in the first round of the competition, Paulo Sérgio stressed that this is the message he has been sending to the players and that this is the attitude that his teams "must always have".

"Anyone who thinks they can compete in the I Liga on their feet, in high heels, is sadly mistaken. A football professional has to compete to win and everyone has to be well aware of that," he said.

The coach guaranteed that the team wants to maintain the pace that almost guaranteed him maintenance on the field, with five wins and two draws in 10 games in the 2019/20 I Liga final stretch, after a break due to the covid-19 pandemic.

"What we have done in the pre-season guarantees that we will maintain the image of an aggressive, proactive team that wants to do for life," said Paulo Sérgio, contributing that "there is more room for maneuver to grow" and that "only the competition will expose some weaknesses ".

Regarding Paços de Ferreira, the Portimonense coach expects a difficult task. "Paços has already accustomed us, for several years to this part, to have very organized and very competitive teams. Pepa has been doing an excellent job and we know that we will have to be competent to achieve the goal", he commented.

Paulo Sérgio also guaranteed that the squad is not closed, but that as eight hires already confirmed guarantee a "quality increase" and that the team "improved as a whole".

The Portimonense coach stressed that the two reinforcements that will arrive from Asia - Malaysian Safawi Rasid and Iranian Jafar Salmani - are "for the medium / long term", since they must adapt to "a whole new world".

"We have to give time and then not create unreasonable expectations that create disillusionment", he explained, concluding that, "for the immediate", the Algarve SAD management seeks to fill two vacancies, in the midfield - with the continuity of Júnior Tavares , whose loan with São Paulo (Brazil) ended at the end of last season - and in the attack.

Portimonense will host Paços de Ferreira on Monday, at 7:30 pm, at the Municipal Stadium of Portimão, in a match that will be arbitrated by Iancu Vasilica (Vila Real).

You can hear Paulo Sérgio is referring to Jafar Salmani at around 7:20 in the video in their press conference in preparation for their match against Paços de Ferreira.
