There is one thing certain, he definitely lacks confidence at this time

Silver lining: BHA plays again this Saturday, so MAYBE CH was saving him for that game. Still not happy with him not playing at all, but let's see what Saturday's lineup looks like.

He's actually done well in those games, that's why I didn't say anything.

They are probably wondering the same now as well. Sometimes clubs wrongly judge a player, and assume that because he has impressed in another competition, he would do good in England as well. The same with Tottenham and Janssen, who came from AZ as well. The Dutch competition is, as a result of these mis-transfers, already been looked at with huge skepticism nowadays.

Not sure how he's done well, but okay. If as a winger you play 15 games and 834 minutes and get 0 assists and 0 goals you didn't play well. He has been horrendous.

He has not been fantastic in the very little time he has been given but he's definitely shown flashes of quality. In his last FA cup game he looked a mindset above everyone else on the pitch, and then was poor in the next league game.

He lacks confidence, IMO that's it. A good run, a couple lucky bounces and he will come good. Hughton just isn't managing him correctly. It's clear as day. Read the Brighton forums - they are getting tired of him because he just plays the same game and players week in and week out. ARJ obviously holds some of the responsibility but how could he possible have even a shred of confidence when he's watching even Locadia get game time over him. Not to mention Locadia publicly voiced his discontent over lack of game time.

Did Queiroz managed Jahanbakhsh incorrectly as well? I mean, even his performances for the national team have been below par.

So I checked whoscored earlier today on ARJ's performance today and he had a whopping 3.6. Apparently he can't even warm the bench properly...
Biggest PL flop is recent history. Getting outclasses and outplayed - pun intended - by players that cost 10% of his price tag.

Below par yes but not abysmal. Even with poor performances he is the type of player who can win games with one or two moments. I am not arguing that he he is a fantastic, proven talent, but I do argue that he is has not been poor enough to deserve the lack of game time he has had at Brighton. His performances have been a mixed bag, with most in the average-to-poor range, but you could say that about half of Brighton's squad. The only difference is the other players have played enough that they've had one or two games where they play really well. Had ARJ had the same opportunities I am almost certain he would do the same.

ARJ has had a total of 4 starts in the premier league. How can anyone judge him so early?

Brighton have another game on Saturday , it could be that he will start that game and was tested tonight. Plus he has had a few players return from injury lately and is using his squad. They are in a rut at the moment and the game on Saturday is a must win game at home to Huddersfield.

Obviously we all want ARJ to play as we have a vested interest in him and we can get wound up over him not playing or his performances. It has been a very stop/start season for him. The timing of his injury and then the Asian Cup came at the wrong time , when he was starting to establish himself in the team.

It is a massive leap from the Dutch league to the Premier League and it has taken him time to adapt, we should be putting our focus on giving him all the support we can give.
