Maybe the artificial pitch is used for Am. Football usually or that the sun sets a lot lower compared to Iran?

I wonder if Ahmadi is talking about people planning for Davari or for Haghighi?

14 years ago today, TM had their saddest victory. A 1-0 against Ireland.

Our golden generation missed the 2002 world cup due to the 2-0 loss against Ireland in Dublin and unfortunately our 1-0 victory in the return leg in Tehran didn't help.

We played so good too. But Shay Given had the game of his life and single handedly took Ireland to the World cup.

We had a great team in 2002, all our legends were in their prime back then. Mahdavikia, Ali Karimi, Daei, Golmohamadi, Karim Bagheri, even Mojahed Khaziravi.

Looking at highlights I always think about what would happen if Ali Karimi had scored that 1v1 in Dublin...

Scott McIntyre, Guam press officer : "The visa issues are related to the USA, not Guam FA."

"It is true, that 4 players 2 members of the staff couldn't enter Guam due to visa issues, but this had neither anything to do with the federation, nor with football. Some of the players requesting too late for visa or didn't provide enough documents to the US embassies. We tried our best to solve this issue, but once again, this is related to the government of the United States."

"Prior to the game, we have a lot of confidence. It will be a tough game for Iran and a historical one for us."

"You have to understand that this pitch has world-class quality. Our stadium has artificial turf which has the highest quality an artificial turf could have. It's true that this stadium is small, but you need to understand that we are a small island. Our stadium is not like Azadi Stadium, where it drips from the roof or where the cables are spred everywhere. Our catacombs and changing rooms are surely better than the ons in the Azadi Stadium."

Look at that poshsare tup from Karimi at 4:55 in the first leg video.
Dont know if there was a more skillfull player in the whole world than him back in 2001.
That picture of him against the 6 irish players is just legendary

So basically Guam is perfect, it's all Iran's fault.

Man I hope we beat these guys at least 10-0.

                    Yeah.

There are so many highlights of him just toying with the other team's players.

If he was born anywhere but Iran he would be a worldwide legend now

Karimi's movement on the ball was World Class. Such a pretty player to watch.

He was terrible in 2001. Most of you are too young to remember. He couldn't finish at all. He was very selfish too.

                              We missed that world cup despite a great generation of footballers mainly due to;

1- poor management during the qualification round. We should have qualified directly. It was within reach but too many internal problems and conflicts didn't let the team focus on the job.

2- Our coach was not at the level to bring it all together. We needed a coach like CQ. Blazevic was too low profile and couldn't change the negativity that surrounded our team. In Ireland he looked like defeated even before the game started.

3- We were unlucky to have to meet a team like Ireland. That team was one of the BEST Ireland ever produced. But our win in Tehran restored some pride.

Had we given him (and Daei and other legends for that matter) the same amount of care and support that a European nation would give, then I'm sure TM would have been well known in the world.
