Coming forth and admitting to one's false predictions would be much more noble and righteous. That's at least how I see things.
Lets just look at some of their players.
South korean NT player with 2 seasons Ligue 1 experience
Slovak NT player with experience in La liga, Serie A, EPL, and SPL.
Spanish Player with over 150 caps in serie a la liga and EPL
Tunisian NT player with almost 30 caps

Add the fact that along with al sadd they have all of qatars best players, I certainly wouldnt hesitate to call this team strong, especially if were talking about asian teams.

Let's face it: you guys were hyping up this Qatari team. It's certainly too early to judge, but so far they haven't been half as good as you guys portrayed them. I think that's the bottom line.

I think PP can get to the QF this year. I always thought the team had the players to be decent but too much hashiyee, way too much hashiyee and of course it will screw them up mentally, most of them being young.

They played a beautiful game against Lekhwiya and fairly disciplined defensive game against the uzbeks. Gotta give credit to Derakhshan for the teams performance.
This team could have been a contender for the title if they still had Pooladi, Hosseini , Sadeghian and Norouzi in their primes. Next game is extremely important, both to prove it hasn't been a flare and if they win they're definitely advancing.

Seeing the highlights Naft seems to loose its defensive structure a lot.

Can someone who watches them tell me if this is due to PAG leaving or have they always been like this?

PAG's departure has had a major effect on the team, no denying that.

By the way a good gesture by the Saudis to offer Foolad to pay for their entire 3 days visit expenses, including their hotel etc.
